Jesse-School Doodles

How cool is this?  I love this drawing by Jesse.  He did this in school...not in art class.  Just filling in time..in class.  He says his work was done and I believe him, I really do.  This is my favorite by far.

The Party..Featuring Frank

See..Jesse came home with this and asked me to find Frank in the party.  He had him drawn on a different part of the paper, then I had to find him in the party.  I did, but the scene was awesome.  I absolutely love this drawing.  From the guy with the undies on his head, the rockers, the dude diving into the bucket, flying with a bird...amazing.

I tried something new...

I made most of the Christmas presents I gave this year.  I made bracelets for my mom and sister-I never made a bracelet before.  I had some bamboo blanks that are pre-drilled for stringing, so I thought I would start there.  I thought of a couple of designs that I could draw, put them on the bamboo, and then stared at them for a while (well, for a couple of days) trying to figure out what to do next.  I had some beads.  So.  Nothing else.  I thought about a really cool idea with wire.  This idea worked perfect in my head.  After I got home from work and got settled down to work on it-not so much.  Then I settled on stretchy cord.  I made the bracelet for my mom.  Loved it.  Made the bracelet for my sister.  Looked at it.  Next day at work, I went to Michaels at lunch and bought different beads.  After work-tore it apart-made it again-loved it.
Now-I needed to take some pictures of them.  My camera died a while back.  Actually, while we were at the Wright-Pat Air Force Museum (BTW-Awesome Place!!).  I decided to put some batteries in it and I asked it to please work.  It did, but wouldn't focus, I took the pictures anyway.  Here are the results.  I also made a little ceramic box for my mom.

I have also been working on a new idea with letters and names.  Combining them together in different ways.  I did this one for my dad.

I have been thinking about selling these.  I will do initials or names.  It will be a mystery how they will turn out.  Even I won't know.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Jesse has drawn our Christmas card every year for about 9 or 10 years.  (I should try to gather them all and post them.)  Here is 2011's Merry Christmas and Happy New Year wish to you all. 

It features Joe & Bob.  Joe & Bob are characters created by Jesse McKee.  They star in a series of books that he has written.  Joe & Bob are always finding trouble~aliens-bombs-cereal bowls in the road & now the Angry Penguin!

Holidays

The holidays are coming so fast.  I have been working on some new projects.  New for me.  Some jewelry and other things.  I can't be too specific right now or show pictures or I will spoil some surprises.


I really would like feedback though.  Please leave me your comments or email me when I do post pictures. 


I will have some pictures to post of some other new things in a couple of days...or so....that's my plan...wish me luck.

Simple Pine~Perfect Place



When I took this photo, I thought it would be cool if I had a close up view of something while having a far away background.  Walking around near my home, I found a beautiful pine in just the right spot. This is what I got.      ~Jesse McKee   12 yrs.

Latest Artwork

My newest artwork is currently at the "Unknown Zones" art show at the LCA Gallery in downtown Newark.  It opened last night. 


"Dreams Turn to Nightmares"  I had a lot of fun creating this one.  I drew this girl in my sketchbook last summer.  I knew that I would find a place for her someday.




"Danguh"  Danger..for those who are not fluent in "street" talk.  My son told me that I should spell it with an "uh" instead of "er".  It would sound more street that way.  I loved it and made perfect sense to me.  Of course we have been talking "street" around the house a lot since then.  Those who know us are probably laughing, but you also know we like to have a good time.

I have some pictures to post of "stephitti"!!  The prints and the pendants.  I plan to put some pendants on leather cord.  Yes..they will be for sale!!

Technical Difficulties....

stephitti:  That's my new thing (a play on grafitti).  I had a few 4x6 blanks of photo paper laying around, and I was supposed to be working on art for the upcoming "Elements4" show.  I was blank~couldn't think of anything...so I picked up a black pen and the photo paper and started drawing.  Over several days..weeks..I came up with several designs that are not planned out..just random.  They are pretty cool..if I say so myself. 
I decided that I am going to sell copies of them and I also made pendants out of parts of them.  No two are alike. 
The problem~my camera broke.  So I have to borrow a camera to take some pictures, then I can post.
Check back.  I hope to take pictures of them this weekend!
